Why Photograph?: ‘I have something I’d like to say’

Peter Turnley
:

The essential part of photography is in the mind and heart and soul, with the camera being simply the extension and at the service of those things.

Photography is not a formula and never will be. It is all about having something to say. Most importantly-we don’t control the world and if we could that would be quite boring-responding to what is, is infinitely more interesting. And it is wonderful that we all have something personal and different to say and that we don’t all speak alike.

I practice every day, because many days, most, I have something I’d like to say because the world around me is so worth noticing and sharing.
